Position Summary:

As our clients’ personal CFOs, we are considered trusted advisors for all financial aspects of their personal and professional lives. Our platinum-level client service model has allowed us to harvest deep rooted relationships with our clients and their other trusted advisors. Apercen FOS continues to grow, and we are seeking individuals who can advise clients as well as manage, grow and develop their own teams of professionals. 

 

As Trust Staff Accountant, you will focus on accounting and financial analysis for your assigned clients and related entities. If you have a passion for client service and want to hone your accounting skills at the highest stage, you will love working at Apercen FOS.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Review invoices to ensure required details are included
  • Accurately enter invoices for payment, including vendor details and general ledger coding, into Oracle accounting system
  • Process approved payments and transfers in Oracle accounting system
  • Process bank transfers
  • Interpret brokerage account transactions
  • Record monthly brokerage account transactions in Fiduciary accounting system
  • Prepare monthly bank and brokerage account reconciliations for assigned client entities
  • Assist with monthly processes
  • Assist in preparing trust financial reports and statements, including monthly accountings, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Update, verify, and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other financial records for assigned client entities
  • Work with client team Senior Accountant to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Support FOS client teams

Qualifications

Qualifications:          

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year of applicable experience, preferably with fiduciary accounting experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external teams both verbally and via email
  • Possession of the utmost integrity and ability to uphold client confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and manage stress
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Ability to understand and carry out directions in an independent manner
  • Ability to process rush items or otherwise meet daily deadlines
  • Ability to act as the first line of internal control for cash disbursements by ensuring invoices are approved by proper client personnel
  • Possession of good decision-making skills and self-awareness

Apercen is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in for New York City Metro Area, Colorado, Washington State, and California. The salary range for all localities is $60,000 - $82,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills and geography.
