Position Summary:

As our clients’ personal CFOs, we are considered trusted advisors for all financial aspects of their personal and professional lives. Our platinum-level client service model has allowed us to harvest deep rooted relationships with our clients and their other trusted advisors. Apercen FOS continues to grow, and we are seeking individuals who can advise clients as well as manage, grow and develop their own teams of professionals. 

 

As Staff Accountant II, you will focus on accounting and financial analysis for your assigned clients and related entities. You will also review work prepared by Accounting Associates. Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Manage payables process per guidelines set by client team Manager
  • Monitor assigned client bank account balances to ensure proper funding for bill payment and payroll processing
  • Manage incoming client employee timesheets and provide to payroll team
  • Manage recurring payment summary and related client approvals
  • Oversee accounting activity performed by client team Accounting Associate, including payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments
  • Review monthly brokerage account journal entries
  • Review monthly credit card journal entries
  • Review [weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly] payroll journal entries
  • Review journal entries prepared by client team Accounting Associate
  • Review monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review [weekly, biweekly, monthly, periodic] unpaid bills summary report
  • Review monthly vendor summaries
  • Analyze financial data in order to prepare financial reports for assigned clients
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements, including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and actual to budget and variance analysis, for client team Manager
  • Prepare quarterly client expense reporting
  • Prepare quarterly and/or annual tax return deliverables
  • Manage 1099 process and filing for client and related entities
  • Update, verify, and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other financial records for assigned client entities

Qualifications

Qualifications:          

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience required
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external teams both verbally and via email
  • Possess the utmost integrity and uphold client confidentiality
  • Adapt quickly to change
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Understand and carry out directions in an independent manner
  • Work with client team Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Family office, private equity, or fiduciary experience

Apercen is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in for New York City Metro Area, Colorado, Washington State, and California. The salary range for all localities is $66,000 - $82,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills and geography. In addition, at Apercen we offer a comprehensive benefits package that is designed to meet the changing needs of our diverse workforce and help everyone achieve and maintain their best possible physical, emotional, and financial health.
