The Billing Manager is responsible for the generation, processing, and issuance of invoices to the firm’s clients. This role will work closely with the managers and partners of the firm to prepare invoices, respond to client questions and maintain the billing subledger. This role will be a major component of the revenue process and report directly to the Senior Billing Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Senior Finance Manager and Partners on preparing a monthly billing plan for assigned clients
  • Drives the monthly billing process from beginning to end by providing relevant billing materials for review, preparing draft invoices and coordinating with managers/partners to obtain the appropriate invoice approvals
  • Manages the communication and issuance of the finalized invoices to clients
  • Coordinates with managers/partners on billing-related questions from clients
  • Processes and maintains all billing-related entries in the subledger
  • Works with Senior Billing Manager to monitor timely payment of invoices and directly handle client follow-up on aged receivables
  • Communicates effectively with team members to anticipate billing delays or other issues that may impact the efficiency of the billing cycle
  • Builds strong connections across the various revenue departments of the firm and leverages relationships to achieve successful completion of tasks

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of related experience
  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • High attention to detail, problem solver and intellectually curious
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and management skills
  • Exhibits a high degree of integrity, ethics and trustworthiness

 

Desired Qualifications

  • MA/MS degree
  • “Big 4” or comparable public accounting experience

Apercen is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in for New York City Metro Area, Colorado, Washington State, and California. The salary range for all localities is $70,000 – $80,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills and geography. In addition, at Apercen we offer a comprehensive benefits package that is designed to meet the changing needs of our diverse workforce and help everyone achieve and maintain their best possible physical, emotional, and financial health.
