As a Staff Accountant I, you will focus on daily data entry and processing to support internal teams. If you have a passion for client service and want to hone your accounting skills at the highest stage, you will love working at Apercen.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Team by performing accounting functions such as accounts payable, general bookkeeping functions, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure all general accounting transactions are entered into accounting software appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Assist with month end close process
  • Process Apercen client electronic payments as required
  • Assist in the preparation of tax work papers, extensions, estimates, and tax advice
  • Assist Tax Manager with tax return compliance and consulting projects
  • Assist in routine 1099 maintenance and annual 1099 reporting process
  • Maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality regarding all matters

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and general bookkeeping functions
  • Basic understanding of tax principles or the desire to learn
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and via email
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Possess the utmost integrity and uphold client confidentiality
  • Adapt quickly to change and prioritize workload
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy
  • Understand and carry out directions in an independent manner
  • Work with Finance team to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Ability to process rush items or otherwise meet daily deadlines

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong Excel skills
