As a Trust Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and evaluating day-to-day accounting tasks. You will establish and manage processes to analyze, verify, and report trust financial information, all while providing high quality client service and acting as a liaison to the Apercen Partners tax team. Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting for multiple trust accounts to ensure accurate and complete accounting of transactions in accordance with specific regulatory requirements.
  • Review and/or process all daily cash movement requests such as remittances, wire transfers, checks and disbursements by monitoring, updating, and posting system registers.
  • Identify and research trust account discrepancies.
  • Assist with the development of new processes, policies, or procedures to advance the controls and accounting environment within trust accounting.
  • Liaise with company accounting and finance staff to ensure that activity is properly recorded into the company’s books and records.
  • Assist in creating trust reports and analyses.
  • Partner with Trust, Operations, and Legal teams and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
  • Develop and implement payables policies and procedures.
  • Review monthly investment journal entries and maintain client specific schedules.
  • Review quarterly client expense reporting and/or annual tax return deliverables.
  • Prepare monthly client billing.
  • Manage communications with internal and external teams across trust portfolio.
  • Effectively manage, train, mentor and motivate team of high performing individuals.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external teams both verbally and via email
  • GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Possession of the utmost integrity and ability to uphold client confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and manage stress
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Possession of good decision-making skills and self-awareness

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience
  • Trust accounting knowledge and familiarity with compliance matters
  • CPA or MBA preferred
