    As a Senior Associate in Partnership Tax, you’ll be coaching new associates, researching complex tax reporting and structuring, reviewing returns and acting as the “go-to” professional for the manager or partner on each engagement. If you’re passionate about tax, meticulous about your work product, and excited to serve and impress some of the world’s most wealthy and complex clients, you’re going to fit right in.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide compliance, research and consulting services to high net worth individuals’ and families’ partnership ventures, supervising several engagements at a time
    • Review work papers and partnership tax returns in progress to ensure they meet firm standards
    • Prepare primarily partnership, flow-through entity, returns for high net-worth clients.  Some individual, fiduciary and gift tax returns as well. 
    • Produce financial statements for clients
    • On smaller engagements, perform all aspects of the engagement, including coordination with legal/investment advisors and client communications
    • Prepare federal and state tax authority correspondence
    • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax compliance and consulting projects and provide real-time feedback
    • Perform in-charge role including coordination with engagement team and delegation of tasks
    • Maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality regarding all client matters

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of income tax experience; emphasis in partnerships. 
    • Experience with Schedule K-1 tax reporting. 
    • Strong accounting skills & ability to produce financial statements from client records
    • Bachelor's degree, and/or J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST/MBT) from an accredited college/university
    • Licensed and active CPA (preferred) or all 4 parts of the CPA exam passed
    • Ability to identify most common considerations and research complex tax matters through resources available
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to understand and simplify complex tax issues for associates
    • Desire to train, motivate and develop new associates and interns
    • Ability to work extended hours during busy times (February-April, August-October) and adhere to strict deadlines

    Desired:                          

    • Multi-state, foreign income reporting or gift and estate tax experience
    • Equity compensation (stock options, restricted stock 10b5-1 plans), complex capital transactions experience
    • Real Estate, Family Partnerships, Venture Capital, Private Equity or Hedge Funds experience
    • Systems: GoSystems, BNA Income Tax Planner, Checkpoint RIA, Microsoft Office (advanced excel capabilities)
